Short Answer
Hearing a tone and saying it are two separate skills.
EZViet's Tone Gym asks you to listen to a word and pick which tone you heard. That builds the ear. It does not listen to you. Đúng Chưa? starts from the other side: you record one phrase, we check the recording is clear enough, and only then give one tone correction.
Free vocabulary, songs, games and ear training
Factual Focus: EZViet describes itself as a free Vietnamese learning app with flashcards that have native-speaker audio, karaoke songs and arcade-style games, in Northern and Southern dialects. Its public pages list 782 vocabulary cards and 53 karaoke songs. The Tone Gym is a listening exercise with 2 to 4 answer choices.
Spoken tone practice, one phrase at a time
Factual Focus: Đúng Chưa? is not a vocabulary app or a course, and it does not replace EZViet. You hear the target, record it, pass a recording check, and get one tone correction. If the audio is not clear enough, it asks you to retry instead of faking a result. Practice alone, no audience.
Where They Overlap, Where They Don't
Both treat tones as the main hurdle for adult learners. EZViet's Tone Gym even warns that hỏi and ngã are the hardest pair to tell apart. That is also the pair Đúng Chưa? is most careful about.

How to Choose
Choose EZViet if:
You are starting out and want free vocabulary, songs and games, a choice of Northern or Southern audio, and ear training that works without a microphone.
Choose Đúng Chưa? if:
You can pick the right tone when you hear it, but locals still mishear you. You want to say one phrase aloud, know whether the recording was usable, and get one correction. A wrong tone is often a different word, not an accent.
Using both
Use EZViet to learn words and train your ear. Use Đúng Chưa? to check that the tones you say match what you hear. Early practice is built for a reasonably quiet room, and the reference deck is Northern, so Southern speakers should not read a miss as a wrong accent.
Early Access
Join the early access beta for tone practice without fake feedback.
We are building and validating Đúng Chưa? alongside early testers. Join the pre-launch waitlist to receive updates when testing spots open.
Voice recording is strictly used to evaluate spoken pitch shapes. Early waitlist iterations will store voice samples for telemetry, algorithm debugging, and reference baseline calibration only with clear consent.
